Duties and
Responsibilities:
Psychiatric
aides take care of all the physical or mental needs of a person. They have to make beds, serve meals, and help patients dress, eat,
and bathe, if necessary. Assessing vital signs, administering medications,
collecting specimens and blood samples, serving meals and feeding patients that
need support and/or assistance. Organizing, directing and encouraging patients
to participate in educational, social and recreational activities. Providing
intake services to patients entering treatment.
Salary: $43,430

Educational
Requirements:
Methods,
techniques, principles and procedures needed for diagnosis, treatment and
rehabilitation of mental and/or physical disorders and disabilities. Important
therapeutic policies, equipment procedures, techniques, methods and strategies
when treating mentally ill and/or emotionally disturbed patients. How to assess
patient needs.
Reflection:
I would not like to do this job because I don’t like working with sick people.
